Disputes & Takedowns

Artifacts change hands. Carriers recycle phone numbers, platforms recycle handles, and scammers deliberately spoof innocent people’s details to burn them. If an artifact listed in this registry is yours and you believe the listing is wrong, this process exists for you — and we take it as seriously as the reports themselves.

How to file a dispute

Email reports@romancescamdirectory.com with the subject line DISPUTE and include: (1) the exact artifact as listed, (2) your relationship to it (e.g., "this has been my personal number since 2023"), and (3) anything that helps us verify — how long you’ve held it, carrier confirmation, platform account age. We never ask for government ID to process a dispute.

What happens next

One honest note: a listing describes a reporter’s experience with an artifact at a point in time. Removal decisions weigh the next target’s safety against the disputant’s interest — and when a number has genuinely changed hands, annotation ("reported activity predates current ownership") often serves both.
